Gay Men's Health Summit 2017 in Vancouver to examine using combined approaches to prevent HIV

Although the development of pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) has created a new prevention approach to HIV, access to these treatments remains challenging due to factors such as the cost of the medication. Yet while Ontario and Quebec are publicly funding PrEP, British Columbia is not.

Accordingly, this year's Gay Men's Health Summit, with the theme of Romancing the Package: Optimizing Combination Prevention, will be taking a look at these issues in the context of how to address HIV infection through combined approaches (including biomedical, behavioural, and structural interventions) for queer men across Canada.
