It is well-documented that 2S/LGBTQQIA+ communities face barriers to accessing health care generally, including sexual, reproductive, and gender-affirming health care - this is to due a number of factors including systemic oppression, exacerbated for 2S/LGBTQQIA+ community members who are Black, Indigenous or people of colour, those with disabilities, those who are Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and intersex, and for those located in rural and remote areas.
With an overall goal to improve access to sexual and reproductive health care for 2S/LGBTQQIA+ communities, the project’s objectives are:
- Identify needs, preferences and acceptability of sexual and reproductive health care outside of traditional clinical settings. Particular emphasis on community members who face intersecting forms of oppression.
- Understand the experiences, challenges, and learning of sexual and reproductive health care providers in non-traditional clinical care settings.
- Identify recommendations for policy and practice change, including opportunities for implementation of new care modalities
