Graphic Designer (Contractor)

The Graphic Designer (contractor) will produce digital graphics, print collateral, reports, educational module PowerPoint presentations and other creative designs for CBRC’s various initiatives and campaigns. Ideal individuals will possess experience in working with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. They will also have experience and interest translating data and research into engaging infographics, charts and graphs as a tool for health promotion, community engagement, and structural change.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Working with CBRC’s Associate Director, Communications and Digital & Visual Communications Coordinator to develop, implement, monitor, and execute CBRC’s digital communications strategy and visual representation of CBRC and associated projects, initiatives and campaigns;
  • Coordinate design projects for a diverse range of digital and print communications products including, but not limited to, reports, executive summaries, 2-pagers, digital/social shareables, and branding;
  • Coordinate various aspects of creative, including copy, design and content development, in a positive and authentic way that reflects CBRC’s values;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams or external vendors to ensure execution of digital and/or visual communications when needed;
  • Provide additional support to other projects and activities led by the Communications team.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in an area related to graphic design, marketing and communications;
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), PowerPoint, Canva;
  • Ability to develop creative and engaging designs within branding guidelines, with knowledge of developing designs for digital and print applications;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.

  • Communication skills in French;
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail;
    Video editing skills;
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and function under tight and/or competing deadlines;
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with partners from varying sectors including academic, government and community agencies;
  • Effective creativity, critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
