Join our consultations on HIV self-test access!

Thank you for your interest in CBRC's Consultations on HIV Self-Test Access! Due to having more interest from the community than we anticipated, the consultations have reached capacity and sign-ups have closed. Please keep an eye on our social media and mailing list for future opportunities! Thank you again for your interest. If you have any questions, please contact Ray - [email protected].

This is an invitation to join our consultations on HIV self-test access. CBRC’s Test@Home program provides HIV self-test kits by mail to 2S/LGBTQ+ folks anywhere in Canada. Our Test Now program offers free HIV self-test kits through a network of community-based organizations and venues across the country. The main goals of our HIV self-test programs is to make testing more accessible within the 2S/LGBTQ+ community.

We’re looking to get feedback from community members about our current HIV self-testing programs. Join us for a one-hour virtual focus group or opt for a one-on-one interview. During these sessions, we'll discuss our current programs and ask questions about how we can improve them. This includes aspects like advertising and outreach strategies, as well as identifying additional initiatives that could be beneficial. Our team believes that no project should be developed without communities being involved every step of the way — “Nothing about us without us.” Participants will receive a $75 honorarium as a thank-you for their time.

To promote diversity of opinion and perspective, there is a preference for participants who identify as Indigenous, Black, a Person of Colour, trans, non-binary, less out, living with a disability, those who use substances, Francophone, and/or who live in non-metropolitan areas. People who have been recently diagnosed with HIV are welcome to participate. Some sessions will be offered in French and Spanish. If you do not identify as one of these groups, you will be given the opportunity to provide written feedback.

Please express your interest in participating by filling out this form. We will hold focus groups in the next few weeks. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ray at [email protected].
