Community-Based Research Centre, in collaboration with Dr. Celeste Pang, Assistant Professor at Mount Royal University, is co-organizing an agenda-setting gathering on issues facing 2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse communities. The event will be held directly after CBRC’s Summit 2025, in-person in Montreal on Sunday, November 23, with participation also possible via Zoom. The Gathering aims to catalyze community-based research by, with, and for 2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse people.
2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse communities face important social and health inequities. These communities are under-represented in community-engaged research, and limited scholarship focuses on the social issues, health needs, cultures, and priorities of diverse 2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse people conducted by, with, and for these communities.
The meeting will bring together 2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse people to discuss issues of under-representation in community-engaged research and training and work to identify emerging issues, priorities, and research questions for future community-based research to address 2S/LBTQ+ women and gender-diverse communities’ current concerns and issues. This work is supported by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Connection Grant.
The meeting will include two main activities, and there are different ways to participate. Participation is free.
