CBRC Summit 2025: Canada’s largest 2S/LGBTQIA+ health conference comes to Montreal November 20–22, 2025

Theme “Convergence & Emergence” explores collective, community-driven action for inclusive systems of care

MONTREAL, QC — Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC) will host its 21st annual Summit, Canada’s largest 2S/LGBTQIA+ health conference, in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke, November 20–22. The event brings together hundreds of researchers, advocates, and health-care providers to address and advance the health and wellbeing of queer, trans, and Two-Spirit communities nationwide.

“With rising homophobia and transphobia, coming together to share strategies and solidarity has never been more vital,” says Michael Kwag, Executive Director of CBRC. “When queer, trans, and Two-Spirit communities pool resources and organize collectively, we emerge stronger and more capable of dismantling barriers to health and equity.”

After two decades in Vancouver, this marks the Summit’s first time in Quebec and its first three-day in-person format. Hosted at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal, the expanded program will feature panels, roundtables, networking events, and keynotes, along with sponsor and community exhibits.

Under the theme “Convergence & Emergence,” Summit 2025 will explore key issues in queer and trans health, including HIV/AIDS,  long-acting PrEP, legal and rural care challenges, Indigenous Two-Spirit advocacy, community-led responses to anti-2S/LGBTQIA+ hate, and more. The conference will also feature ancillary events, meetings, and consultations hosted by partner organizations, and be preceded by a two-day Two-Spirit Symposium (November 18-19) on queer and Indigenous health.
