CBRC and its Board of Directors are announcing that, effective August 26, 2022, Executive Director Jody Jollimore will be leaving to start the next chapter of his career. Beginning September 6, 2022, he with be the new Executive Director of CATIE, Canada’s source for HIV and Hepatitis C information.
“The decision to leave CBRC is difficult,” says Jollimore. “I’m going to miss everyone tremendously. CBRC has been like a family to me, but it’s time for new challenges. I feel good about my contributions over the last five years and feel like the organization is in a great place. I look forward to seeing what’s next for CBRC.”
Although saddened to see Jollimore leave, CBRC is appreciative of his leadership and his contributions as Executive Director over the past five years. “During this time, Jody has led us through a period of immense growth and transformation,” says CBRC Board Chair Christopher Gallardo-Ganaban. “This includes expanding our team to include three satellite offices and more than 40 full-time staff across the country, dramatically diversifying and increasing our budget, and becoming the largest queer and trans health organization in Canada. Under Jody’s leadership, CBRC has also taken critical steps in our path towards Truth and Reconciliation by forging meaningful relationships with Two-Spirit and Indigenous Elders, leaders, and researchers, while also broadening our mission and mandate to become more inclusive and reflective of 2S/LGBTQ+ communities.”
The Board of Directors are working towards ensuring a seamless transition so that CBRC can continue to maintain its day-to-day activities, research, and programming, as a process for selecting the next Executive Director is determined. The Board of Directors has recently struck an Executive Director Search Committee and are convening this week to outline a plan to find Jollimore’s replacement.
The Board would like to take one more opportunity to appreciate the commitment and invaluable contributions made by Jollimore during his tenure and wishes him the very best in his future endeavors.
