Created in 2023 in response to a growing need, Knowledge 2eekerS is a CBRC leadership program that brings together Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ people with an interest in community-based research to gather, learn, and reflect on their experiences navigating academia and research.
Developed through consultation and with meaningful engagement from Two-Spirit community members, Knowledge 2eekerS embodies the interests, values, and teachings of Indigenous groups across Turtle Island. The program offers Two-Spirit perspectives that encourages participants to envision research as a means of returning to and contributing to the collective benefit of their communities. Recognizing the complicated history between research and Indigenous people, the program asks: What does it mean to be an Indigenous person working in research? How can an understanding of the past inform a future in research that honours the contribution and experience of Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ people?

Knowledge 2eekerS podcast
In 2026, Two-Spirit Program team members Ella Dufault and Skye Wilson collaborated on a series of episodes for Ella's Dénht’ā podcast as a part of the Knowledge 2eekerS leadership program. In this five-part series, Ella speaks to Knowledge 2eekerS participants and Two-Spirit Program staff members about Two-Spirit health and wellbeing. Using data from the Our Bodies, Our Health survey — in which hundreds of Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ folks responded — the team discusses the study’s findings and their implications for Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ health in Canada.
