Indigenous ceremony seeks to strengthen a person’s connection to the physical and spiritual world, provide healing or clarity, mark significant life moments, or offer remembrance and gratitude. Together, we create and protect environments to facilitate healing and ease suffering. These Medicine Bundles are our people’s connection to personal growth and sacred ceremony.
The Medicine Bundle research project, led by the Two-Spirit Program at Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC), has been created with care and attention to accommodate the needs of the diverse lived experiences of our recipients. To be eligible for the initial research pilot study, which ran from July - September 2022, people had to be Indigenous, have lived in British Columbia at the time, and have been 18 years of age or older.
The impact of this project has been significant, confirming that there truly is a need for the Medicine Bundles. Today, the Medicine Bundle has expanded and is now available in 5 community sites across Turtle Island. Each site creates their own medicine bundles, with regionally relevant medicines catered to the needs and cultures of its local community. Supporting the journey of healing is paramount, and these actions truly make a difference.
