Dear [name],

We’re excited to let you know that our new community-based survey Our Bodies, Our Health is available online, and will also make its way to a [Pride festival or event] near you this summer!

Our Bodies, Our Health is a survey led by CBRC in collaboration with Dr. Nathan Lachowsky and the University of Victoria. The survey explores different aspects of our communities’ sexual and reproductive health, such as gender-affirming care, sexual behaviour & health, sex & pleasure, family planning, fertility & abortion, cancer prevention & care, and sexual violence. Through this community sexual and reproductive health survey, we aim to better understand community-prioritized sexual and reproductive health drivers and indicators among 2S/LGBTQIA+ people across Canada, and determine inequities within 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities.

The survey is being done in close collaboration with Investigaytors and Knowledge 2eekerS, which are community-based research capacity-building programs. These program are run across the country (CBRC Knowledge 2eekerS) and in regional sites with partners in Vancouver (Health Initiative for Men), Edmonton (Queer and Trans Health Collective), Winnipeg (Village Lab, University of Manitoba, Rusty Souleymanov), Toronto (CRUISELab, University of Toronto, David Brennan), Montreal (Qollab, Université de Montréal, Olivier Ferlatte), and Halifax (SHaG Lab, Dalhousie University, Matthew Numer). Our program participants have participated in the development of the different elements related to the survey, including identifying community priorities in sexual and reproductive health data. They will also participate in in-person data collection this summer and work on analyzing data to respond to local evidence needs.

Participants can complete the survey at home now, or in-person at different events this summer.

For more information about Our Bodies, Our Health, including the link to complete the survey or to see when we’ll be at an event near you, please visit https://www.cbrc.net/ourbodiesourhealth. We hope to see many of you face-to-face in the coming weeks!
