Dear Sex Now participant,
This summer you participated in the Sex Now study at a Pride festival or community event, where you provided a dried blood spot sample for HIV and HCV testing. You also filled out the Sex Now survey, where you told us your HIV and Hepatitis C status.
Unfortunately the lab was not able to process the sample for HIV testing. This is because not enough blood could be collected on the dried blood spot card. The lab was able to process the Hepatitis C tests and we are writing to let you know that the result of the Hepatitis C test was the same as what you told us about your Hepatitis C status in the survey.
If you’re unsure about your HIV or Hepatitis C status, or think your status may have changed since this summer, we recommend asking a healthcare professional for standard lab testing. If you have a clinic or healthcare provider that you feel comfortable with, feel free to follow up with them.
Thank you again for your participation in Sex Now! For more information on the study, and to participate in the on-line version launching in February, visit www.cbrc.net/sexnow
