As part of our End the HIV Epidemic, Not HIV Funding campaign, CBRC has sent a letter to the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Canada’s Health Minister, on behalf of a serving 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities across Canada.
The letter (embedded below) calls on the Minister to prevent prospective cuts to Canada’s HIV and Hepatitis C Community Action Fund (CAF) and Harm Reduction Fund (HRF), which represent Canada’s most significant federal community-based HIV funding sources. Community organizations have been at the heart of Canada’s response to HIV for decades, and cuts to these funds risk weakening that response and reversing hard-won progress toward ending new HIV infections.
To see the complete list of community organizations that have signed on to the campaign, download or view the letter below.
Do you want to help? CBRC is also inviting community members to send their own letter to their MP. It’s quick and easy: simply enter your name, email address and mailing address, and we’ll send a pre-written letter on your behalf.
Thanks to everyone who helped get word out!
