Are you passionate about advancing sexual health in Alberta’s 2S/GBTQ+ communities? Want to play a vital role in strengthening syphilis prevention and awareness as part of Alberta’s response?
CBRC (Community-Based Research Centre) is looking for dedicated individuals to join two new Advisory Committees to help lead and inform this critical work.
CBRC is launching a project to support Alberta’s 2S/GBTQ+ communities with essential information about syphilis, so our communities can protect our health and support each other. This initiative is especially important for gay, bisexual, and queer people, who are currently the most affected by syphilis in Alberta. We’re looking for community members and healthcare providers to join our advisory teams and help shape this project so it truly reflects the needs of 2S/GBTQ+ Albertans.
Join an Advisory Committee—Make a Real Impact
As an Advisory Committee member, you’ll contribute to the creation of community and provider-focused syphilis education resources that reflect the unique experiences and needs of Alberta’s 2S/GBTQ+ people. Meetings will be held virtually every 1-3 months, based on project requirements, and participants will receive an honorarium of $50 per meeting as thanks for their time and insights. The project is expected to continue until March 2026, giving you the chance to make a long-term impact on Alberta’s approach to sexual health for 2S/GBTQ+ communities.
Our Two Advisory Committees:
Alberta Syphilis Project Provider Advisory Committee
This committee is recruiting healthcare and service providers who work with 2S/GBTQ+ communities across Alberta. Your expertise will help us create resources that address the distinct healthcare needs of these communities.
Alberta Syphilis Project Community Advisory Committee
We’re also recruiting 2S/GBTQ+ individuals from across Alberta to ensure the community’s voices are centered in our educational resources. Your lived experiences and insights will help make our approach community-informed, relevant, and accessible.
Join us in making a difference.
Note: The Alberta Syphilis Project Advisory Committees will operate in English only.
