The Two-Spirit Program team at CBRC and Knowledge 2eekerS program participants are excited to announce A Journey to Knowing, a special 5-part series of the Dénht’ā podcast, hosted by Ella Lamoureux. 

In this series, Ella speaks to Knowledge 2eekerS participants and Two-Spirit Program staff members about our communities’ health and wellbeing. Sharing data from the Our Bodies, Our Health survey — in which hundreds of Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ folks responded — we talk about the study’s findings and their implications for Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ health in Canada. 

Through stories and data, this series will present a snapshot of our communities’ realities when it comes to sexual and reproductive health, and discuss ways we are striving to improve these realities.

About Knowledge 2eekerS

Created in 2023 in response to a growing need, Knowledge 2eekerS is a CBRC leadership program that brings together Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ people with an interest in community-based research to gather, learn, and reflect on their experiences navigating academia and research. Participants also have opportunities to create research outputs, like the A Journey to Knowing podcast series. 

About Our Bodies, Our Health

During the Summer of 2025, CBRC ran the Our Bodies, Our Health survey, which explores different aspects of our communities’ sexual and reproductive health (e.g., gender-affirming care, sexual behaviour & health, sex & pleasure, family planning, abortion, cancer prevention, and sexual violence). The survey was available online, and CBRC staff and volunteers also collected data in-person at 2S/LGBTQIA+ community spaces across Canada. The Two-Spirit Program team at CBRC played an integral role in collecting data for the national survey, travelling to community events like Pride festivals and powwows.
