Learn about the work being undertaken by emerging leaders in 2S/LGBTQ+ health research from across Canada!
The 2S/LGBTQ+ Health Hub supports emerging leaders in 2S/LGBTQ+ health and health research from across Canada through training, mentorship, and capacity-building opportunities. We facilitate networks beyond geographies, disciplines, and sectors, supporting health promotion activities, stigma reduction, and 2S/LGBTQ+ health across the lifecourse.
The 2S/LGBTQ+ Health Hub Trainee Showcase provides a forum for members of the 2026/2027 fellowship cohort to present and receive feedback on their work, including work in its early stages. Trainees will share critical insights on the state of 2S/LGBTQ+ health across the country and speak to how their individual work connects to and is strengthened by others.

Join us for CBRC’s first Black Queer Symposium, an ancillary event co-hosted by Dr. OmiSoore Dryden and Black Queer Canada, as part of CBRC’s 2026 Summit at The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto on Thursday, October 29th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This gathering will bring together a multidisciplinary group of Black 2S/LGBTQI+ trainees, scholars, artists, community-based staff, practitioners and organizational leaders across Canada.
The Symposium will create space for attendees to develop Black queer praxis through joint research-priority setting, capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and strengthening communities of practice. This work is funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Connection Grant.
Please note that this event has limited capacity and is exclusively for Black and queer people (including Afro-Caribbean, Afri-Indigenous, mixed race, Black Scotian, Afro-Latinx and people of Black-African descent) and 2S/LGBTQI+ (Two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual/agender/aromantic, and other sexual and gender diverse) identified individuals.
CBRC is also offering five scholarships to support Black queer trainees and community-based staff to participate in the symposium. Please refer to this link to apply if eligible by September 25th at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Community-Based Research Centre and Gay Men’s Sexual Health Alliance invites Ontario healthcare providers to Come Together: Enhancing Our Collective Capacity to Address HIV and STBBIs Among GBT2Q Communities. Together, community-based organizations, healthcare providers, public health professionals and researchers will connect with one another, learn together, and discuss best practices and actions we can implement to make meaningful progress in achieving our shared goals.
Key topics we will engage with include the emerging HIV PrEP landscape, relational approaches to serving Two-Spirit and Indigenous communities and serving newcomer communities. Presenters include Dr. Darrell Tan, infectious diseases physician and clinician-scientist at St. Michael's Hospital, and Ella Dufault, a member of CBRC's Two-Spirit program. Additional presenters will be shared in the coming days.
The event will include a networking lunch, a series of workshops, and group discussion.

Join us for a community dialogue event exploring 2S/LGBTQIA+ sexual and reproductive justice across Canada.
The 2S/LGBTQIA+ Sexual and Reproductive Justice Forum is a participatory knowledge-exchange event bringing research evidence and emerging findings from the Our Bodies, Our Health study into dialogue with the knowledge and lived experiences of our communities. Through a keynote, participatory data interpretation, lightning talks, and facilitated small-group dialogue, participants will explore the social, political, institutional, geographic, cultural, and economic conditions shaping 2S/LGBTQIA+ sexual and reproductive health. Together, we hope these activities will support the development of community-led responses and cross-regional collaboration, while also identifying priorities for advocacy, research, resource development, and collective action in Ontario and beyond.
Light refreshments (coffee, tea, cookies, etc.) will be provided. Please bring a travel mug and reusable water bottle to help us reduce waste.

Join us for an interactive workshop that brings together members of the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community, people with lived experience, frontline workers, researchers, and healthcare providers to share knowledge and perspectives on brain health needs. Through guided discussions and activities, participants will help identify practical, community-driven ways to recognize when people may need brain health support. The ideas and priorities developed during the workshop will help inform future tools and resources for frontline workers who support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
